Story by Robert Alexander on 2010-11-13 10:51:08
MURRAYFIELD, EDINBURGH - Scotland`s first Autumn Test match couldn`t see them face a tougher test as the All Blacks come to Edinburgh on the back of a win over Scotland`s arch rivals England. Andy Robinson`s side are top priced at 14/1 (bet £10 to make £140 profit) with Sportingbet to record their first ever victory over New Zealand, while the Tri Nations champions are 1/18 with 888Sport and Blue Square. The draw is a best priced 50/1 shot with bet365 and Ladbrokes.
Scotland are in good form, having won their last four matches, including a well deserved 2-0 series win in Argentina. The last time Scotland won at Murrayfield was their famous victory over Australia almost one year ago, so they will be determined to record another unlikely win on home turf against a southern hemisphere giant. New Zealand captain Richie McCaw is going to gain his 92nd cap and equal the record held by Sean Fitzpatrick.
In the handicap (no draw) market New Zealand -17.5 is quoted at best odds of 10/11 with Ladbrokes, while Scotland + 17.5 is a top priced 10/11 shot with Betfred and William Hill.
Hosea Gear, the pacy All Blacks winger is available at best odds of 8/1 with Boylesports and Stan James to score the first try of the match, with his team mate Isaia Toevea a best priced 8/1 chance at Coral and Paddy Power. Brother`s Sean and Rory Lamont are both top priced at 20/1 with Sportingbet to give Scotland a good start with the opening score of the match.
Dan Parks won Man of the Match in three of Scotland`s matches in this years Six Nations and is a top priced 25/1 shot with Paddy Power to be man of the match at Murrayfield once again. Daniel Carter is 6/1 with the same bookmaker to live up to his reputation as the most influential player in the world.
In the race to 10 points betting market, Scotland are quoted at best odds of 9/2 with William Hill, while New Zealand are 1/5 with 888Sport and Betfred.
The match kicks off at 1715 GMT and will be shown live on BBC Two
