Ladbrokes: All Blacks cut for World Cup as England fail to impress the bookies

NEW ZEALAND have been cut to 4/7 (from 8/13) by Ladbrokes for the Rugby World Cup on a day of significant changes to the tournament betting. The All Blacks destroyed South Africa 40-7 in the Tri-Nations match and the bookies have pushed the Springboks out to 8/1 (from 7s) to win the cup this Autumn. Nearer to home, Ladbrokes were unimpressed with England's narrow victory over Wales at Twickenham nor did Scotland trouble the bookies as they laboured to victory over a weakened Ireland team.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "The All Blacks look to be playing on a different planet. These games give us plenty of clues but by far the most significant one was New Zealand's stunning victory. "We've been here before with New Zealand of course. They've often let the punters down on the World Cup stage but they look sure to start the tournament as red-hot favourites." England remain 12/1 for the World Cup with Scotland at 150/1.
