Ladbrokes: Cricket World Cup update - 9/1 England don't qualify from the group
Story by Sarah Preece on 2011-03-18 17:40:42
ENGLAND ARE 9/1 with Ladbrokes to fail to qualify from their group at the Cricket World Cup.
A Bangladesh and West Indies double would be enough to knock them out of the tournament but thankfully for cricket fans and the bookies alike it's just 1/33 they make it through to the next stage.
India remain the firm's biggest loser with South Africa (9/2 from 5/1) the team for money this week. Of the remaining group matches, it's Australia (4/7) v Pakistan (11/8) that seems the most finely poised at the prices with Zimbabwe (2/7) expected to beat Kenya (11/4).
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "England fans may be interested in backing the double as an insurance policy should the worst happen and results fail to go their way. In the outright markets South Africa are the team attracting the most recent support but India remain the team we fear the most."
