England Long Odds-on To Begin World Cup Campaign With A Win

England's cricketer's are 1-20 favourites with Coral to win their opening World Cup match against the Netherlands on Tuesday, with the Dutch 15-2 to cause an upset in Nagpur. With Kevin Pietersen set to open the betting for England, Coral have opened a match bet between Pietersen and Andrew Strauss, and can't split the pair at 5-6 each of two, while Strauss's side are 6-1 to win the World Cup.

"It's been a low key start to the World Cup, with the games so far all rather one sided, which isn't great for in-running turnover. However, that should change as the tournament progresses, although their backers will hope England's opening match is not too close," said Coral's David Stevens.
