DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai - The Kolkata Knight Riders face a crucial match against the Pune Warriors as the side look to secure the fourth and final playoff place. The Knight Riders are the 8/15 favourites for the match with Paddy Power. Pune are 6/4 with bet365 to secure only their fifth victory of this IPL season.
Kolkata are currently fourth in the IPL points table, level on points with the Kings XI Punjab with two matches remaining. The Knight Riders will all but secure their place in the final four with a win this evening and are on form having won four of their last six matches. Should Kolkata lose against Pune they would go into the final game of the regular season in the unenviable position of needing a win against Sachin Tendulkar's Mumbai Indians to stave off elimination. The Knight Riders will be hoping their decision to pass on their former captain and legendary Indian Batsman Sourav Ganguly in IPL auction will not come back to haunt them as he lines up in the Pune side this evening. Pune have already been eliminated from this season's competition and will have only pride to play for this evening having picked up only four victories from their 12 fixtures. The Warriors are led by former Kings XI captain Yuvraj Singh who can help keep his former sides playoff hopes alive with victory today.
South African All-Rounder Jacques Kallis, who has scored just under 358 runs so far this campaign, is the favourite to top score for Kolkata at a best price of 11/4 with Paddy Power. Gautam Gambhir, who is the only other Knight Riders batsman with over 300 runs this season, is a 10/3 shot with Skybet. Manoj Tiwary is at a best price of 11/2 with Blue Square in the same market.
New Zealand All-Rounder Jesse Ryder is the favourite to top score for his side at 7/2 with Ladbrokes. Captain Yuvraj Singh, top scorer for Pune with 319 runs so far this season, is a best price of 5/1 with Ladbrokes in the same market. Sourav Ganguly, who was out for a duck in his last match against Deccan, is 5/1 at William Hill to top score against his former side.
The Warriors are evens with Paddy Power to put on the highest opening partnership whilst the Knight Riders are 6/4 to hit the most sixes at bet365.
The Match starts at 1530 BST/2000 Local Time and is live on ITV 4.
