India favourites in betting to win cricket World Cup

MUMBAI, India - India remain the bookmakers' favourite to win the ICC World Cup midway through the qualifying matches. India top the table in Group B on five points and are expected to take their tally to seven points if they overcome Holland in today's match in Delhi. India are best priced at odds of 3/1 with Boylesports and Sportingbet to win the tournament.

Second favourites are South Africa at 9/2 with Betfair, even though the South Africans are only in fourth place in Group B, behind England and level on points with West Indies.

Australia are third favourites at 5/1 with Betfred, followed by Sri Lanka at 11/2 on Betfair. Pakistan are 8/1 with Betfred while England are 12/1 with Betfair, even though they have tied with India and beaten South Africa and Holland.

New Zealand top group B on six points, level with Pakistan but ahead on a vastly superior run rate, and they can be backed at 20/1 with Betfair, in from 33/1 at the start of the tournament.

The quarter finals, in which the top four teams in each group will play against each other, start on 23 March in Dhaka where the winner of Group A will play the fourth in Group B. The final will be played in Mumbai on April 2.
